Medieval Riding Tunic
The Medieval Riding Tunic is a core piece of our Yoremade collection, designed for the Early and High Medieval periods. We built this tunic with deep splits in both the front and the back to solve a specific problem: movement. Whether you’re actually on a horse or just need to move quickly on foot, these splits give your legs the space they need without the fabric bunching up or pulling at your waist.
We used a blend of 75% cotton and 25% linen to get the balance right. The linen gives the fabric a rugged, historical texture that looks great on camera or in person, while the high cotton content keeps it soft and breathable. It’s a durable "workhorse" garment that stands up to the dirt and friction of camp life, but it’s light enough to be worn as a base layer on hot days.
The design is intentionally simple, featuring long sleeves and a clean, rounded neckline. This makes it easy to pair with hoods, belts, or armor without having too much extra bulk in the way. It’s available in Cardinal Red, Cloudy Blue, and Maiden Natural, making it a reliable foundation for any character from a simple scout to a seasoned man-at-arms.
