Landsknecht Spaulders – Yoremade Edition

Layered protection with a distinct silhouette.

The Yoremade Landsknecht Spaulders offer practical shoulder defence rooted in 16th-century mercenary armour. Designed to complement the full Landsknecht set or enhance your own mixed kit, these steel spaulders protect the upper arm and shoulder while maintaining a sharp historical shape.

Each pauldron is constructed from four articulated lames that follow the curve of the upper arm, creating layered protection that moves easily with your shoulder. A solid shoulder dome caps the structure, and a rounded besagew guards the armpit, both common features in early Renaissance armour. The result is a clean, structured shoulder plate with functional movement and a recognisable period shape.

Made from 1.6 mm polished steel, this Yoremade version offers added durability while retaining comfort for long-term wear. These spaulders attach to a gorget or cuirass using leather straps or lacing, depending on your setup, and can also be worn over a padded gambeson with minor adjustments.

They pair naturally with the Yoremade Landsknecht Cuirass and Gorget, but they’re equally at home as part of a custom outfit, especially if you’re building a historically inspired mercenary, soldier, or officer.
